How We Rate Online Casinos
See exactly how Casino Affairs tests and scores online casinos, from licensing and payouts to bonus terms, games, mobile play and support.
Every casino on Casino Affairs is scored with the same method, whether or not we earn a commission from it. This page explains what we check, how the rating out of five comes together, and what makes a casino lose points.
1. Licence and safety
We start by confirming who licenses the casino and who owns it. We look for a regulator that actually enforces player protection rules, an SSL-secured site, published terms and a clear complaints process. A casino with no verifiable licence does not get listed.
2. Deposits and withdrawals
We check which payment methods are available in each market, the minimum deposit, any fees and how long withdrawals really take. Slow payouts, surprise fees or vague verification rules cost a casino more points than anything else, because getting paid is what matters most.
3. Bonus terms
A big headline offer means little if the wagering is impossible. We read the full bonus terms and look at the wagering requirement, game weighting, maximum bet, time limit and any cap on winnings. Fair, clearly written offers score well. Hidden conditions do not.
4. Games and software
We look at the size and quality of the game library, the studios behind it, live dealer options and whether RTP information is easy to find.
5. Mobile experience
Most people play on their phones, so we test every casino on mobile. Pages should load quickly, games should run smoothly and the cashier should be easy to use on a small screen.
6. Customer support
We contact support with real questions and note how fast and how well the casino answers, and which channels it offers.
7. Responsible gambling tools
Good casinos let you set deposit limits, take time-outs and self-exclude without a fight. We check that these tools exist and work.
How the final score works
Each area gets a score, and together they make up the rating out of five you see on every review. Licence, payouts and bonus fairness carry the most weight. When a casino changes its offer or terms, we update the review and the score.
How we make money
Casino Affairs is free to read. Some casinos pay us a commission when a reader signs up through our links. That never buys a better rating, a higher spot in our lists or a softer review, and we list casinos we do not earn from when they deserve a place.
